ALAN EDWARD RAFUSE
Peacefully at his residence on Monday, March 5, 2018 Alan “Allie” Edward Rafuse of Cornwall in his 82nd year.
Alan had been a Seaman since 1952 for seventeen years after attending Seamanship school at Ryerson. He also worked at BASF as a chemical plant operator for nearly twenty-two years. Alan was an avid volunteer at the Lost Villages in Long Sault.
Beloved father of Jeffrey of Gatineau and Mark (Cheryl) of Cornwall. Loving grandfather of Jeffrey of Ottawa, Christopher of Gatineau and great grandfather of Mika. Cherished brother of Nelson (Elnora) of Smiths Falls, Marian Kirkbride of Santa Fe, New Mexico and Patricia Britton of Calgary. Special uncle of Michele Rafuse (Mike Perkins) of Lombardy, Derek of Almonte, and Edward (Shelley) of Smiths Falls. Missed by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ruth (nee King) and Capt. Allan Rafuse, and brother Richard.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, 310 York Street, Cornwall on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Inurnment at a later date in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault. Memorial donations to the Lost Villages Historical Society or First Baptist Church Memorial Fund gratefully acknowledged.
